Mars3D Viewer allows you to examine a variety of Martian features. They are rendered accurately using altimetry data from NASA's MGS satellite and photographic images from the Viking missions. A number of models can be downloaded including Olympus Mons, the highest volcano in the solar system and Valles Marineris, a 4000km long canyon.

First download the viewer software, Mars3D Viewer (126Kb)

Unzip all the files to a new folder making sure the 'Use folder names' checkbox is ticked

Then download and install at least one of the datasets below:

To install a dataset or texture, unzip the files to the output folder which was created when you installed the Viewer.

The software must be installed to a folder path of less than 40 characters in length. I will fix this in a future version.
